…is that it’s already Tuesday! We’ve skipped right over the “Monday blahs” to “getting things done Tuesday.”
And with Tuesday comes a wealth of things to share that I find interesting but you might not. But really, it’s my blog, and you’re free to leave if you’re so inclined!
[Actually, please don’t. Thanks.]
First up, I’d like to rename said blog “If you Believe in Equality and Dictionaries” after consuming this:
Second, word up to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – far from perfect, but still awesome. Just like most cool feminist parents I know.
Also – a few weeks back I mentioned going out of my comfort zone and taking a risk – this was registering for a 15k race in June. I’ve been really (REALLY) nervous about the distance, but yesterday had such an amazing run and I’m finally feeling like I’m ready. Once I got home from the run, I was talking with my partner about how wonderful it is to feel freed from negative body images while I’m running. I’m slow, I have a short stride, shitty knees, and asthma. By all definitions, I shouldn’t be a runner. But I’m doing it. I’m running. I’m running farther and farther and farther. And what’s nice is that I’m doing it for myself now. I don’t care at all what I look like because, well shit, I’m running, and you’re not. I don’t care how slow I am, I don’t care about how red faced and sweaty I get. I’m running. And I feel damn good crossing that finish line.
Finally, the next couple of weeks are pretty big for me as I prepare to speak at TEDxTheGlebeWomen. Check it out, tune in, and wish me luck!
